Matt Ference lives, works, and plays music in Richmond, Virginia. He started this blog because his friends pleaded with him to stop making them so many mix CDs, and so he decided to inflict his musical tastes and various rants and raves on an unsuspecting Internet. He tries his best not to be a music snob, but he still refuses to listen to bands with repeated names (e.g. Tapes ‘n’ Tapes, Man Man, !!!, The Ting Tings), because c’mon people, that’s just lame. His favorite sport is Calvinball, and he’s too fickle to make a list of his top ten albums ever, but it would probably include a Bruce Springsteen album, something by Sigur Rós, and maybe Van Morrison’s contractual obligation album for Bang! Records, in which he mumbles for about ten minutes about having ringworm. The first album he ever owned was “The Beatles 1962-66,” and the last album he bought was Fever Ray’s self-titled debut.
